i was in a car accident and my car was not totaled it was repaired.

i was in a car accident and my car was not totaled it was repaired. It was bought new 2 and a half months before the accident. am i entitled to compensation for lost value to the car? the insurance adjuster told me i will only be compensated if i trade it in because if i don't trade it in i am not losing money on it.
