JA: I'm sure teramycin feels you are doing your best. What is the matter with teramycin?
Customer: My goats have extreme pink eye and the teramycin cream sees to help so maybe we need to give oral dosage also

Hello. This is Dr. Linda. I hope I can help with your question today.

I would continue with the topical terramycin ointment directly into the eye(s) as this is the best way to treat pinkeye. It is a bit of a chore to do this 2-3 times a day, but oral terramycin will just not reach levels high enough to be of any benefit to the eyes.

If you want to treat additionally, then injectable long acting oxytetracycline at a dose of 20 mg/kg is recommended until clinical improvement is apparent. One dose may work, but often 2 or more treatments may be needed.
