Customer Question

I have a three month old lamb raised by somebody else who then had to pass him on to my farm animal sanctuary. He'd been fed on cow's milk and was very small for his age. So I transitioned slowly over three weeks from cow's milk to ewe milk replacement formula until the past week he's just been on ewe's milk and lucerne pellets - and he grazes. I heard him calling an hour ago and went over to him to find his stomach hugely bloated. I've given him 6 ml olive oil and he's perked up a bit. I have duplocillin. Should I give him some? It expired end of January 2015.

Hello, I do apologize that my colleagues could not assist with Jim while I was away. Still I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with your wee one today.
How is he just now?
Did the bloating respond to the olive oil?
Are his gums pink or pale/white?
Has he passed stool?
What color? Had he been scouring before this?
