Customer Question

I have a Dorper Ewe that has given birth to healthy twins about two days ago. Its' abdomen is very swollen and hangs down a long way. It has full udders but the lambs don't appear to be drinking.

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help.
Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner. If you would still like assistance, can you tell me:
Was she checked to make sure there wasn't a third lamb?
Are her gums pink or pale/white?
Does the abdomen feel fluidy?
How is her appetite?
Do the lambs have full bellies or are they empty?
Are the active or collapsed?
