I have an alpine goat close to 10 years old A whether. The blacksmith trimmed his feet in Jan. He has been tender since. But he has problems standing and walks on his knees. He has been eating, drinking water but not going out doors. I just read a thread about giving him electrolytes. He has not been dewormed. I read that strongid can be used. Hello, Mary Lou. I am afraid that the expert you have requested is not currently available. Still I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with your wee one today.
Can you tell me if you can see any bruising, wounds, cracks, abscesses, or changes to the front feet (especially the underside)?
If you palpate his legs, any swellings or tenderness anywhere on the front legs?
What is his temperature?
