Hello, and welcome back to Just Answer.

Alpacas typically eat a diet consisting predominantly of different kinds of pasture grass and low protein hay as long as they have a good balanced mineral content; however, fruits and vegetables like apples, chopped carrots, pineapple, celery, lettuce, parsley, cabbage, and brussels sprouts are also enjoyed by them. Introduce one fruit or vegetable at a time, so their system gets used to it. Sugar beets are also considered good for nursing moms, but don't overfeed.
