I want to verify that my backup worked properly - I have a message that the backup for this AM did not run but cannot see why it did not run as it is scheduled and all files are checked.

Technician's Assistant: What are you having trouble accessing or opening?

I have a message that my backup that was scheduled for 1:00 AM this morning did not run and have no information as to why.

Technician's Assistant: What's the brand and model of your computer? And the Operating System (OS)?

MS Surface Book - Windows 10

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on with your Surface Book? What have you tried so far?

Periodically for a week. I have tried to discover why by looking at some information provided by the backup application and there is no way to do that.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Software Expert to know before I connect you?

Can I first know what kind Bakckup Software you are referring to? Do you mean the built-in backup application of Windows 10?

Sorry for replying late. Please check below link to see if your screen message is the same or similar. That's the most common reason for failed backup due to unexpected locks on files. As you remember, was the system updating OS or other products during the backup time?
