Customer Question

hi pearl I would like to have this laptop boot to the usb I have plugged in. How do I get that to happen ?
JA: Just to clarify, what's the make and model of your laptop, and what operating system are you running?
Customer: Toshiba satellite laptop with Windows 8.1 64/32 bit
JA: Have you installed any updates recently? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: No - I will not update to W10; there have not been any problems, per se but I wanted to see is this usb I purchased (Called Xtra PC - supposed to be based on Linux) actually would make the unit quicker
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no ....I think that's al. Oh - the op intrusctions for the USB said that F12 was the boot key for Toshiba laptops but I have had no luk with that to access the BIOSsystem.

Let me know when you get in to the Bios. You're going to need to make some changes there.

Were you pressing the F12 key, because that looks like a boot menu?

To get to the BIOS when you start the laptop, press F2
