Having your hard drive replaced should have no effect at all on your ability to burn CDs, unless of course you had a CD burning a program installed on the old drive that you don't have on the new drive. Can you tell me what exactly happens when you try to burn a CD?

Are these CD-Rs or CD-RWs?
The reason I ask if because CD-Rs do not even need to be formatted. Only RWs do. So it shouldn't even be trying to format Rs.

Hmm. All right, well I admit I'm puzzled. If you were just having an issue with one burning application, then I'd say the program itself is probably the issue. But since it's multiple programs, that indicates an issue with the wider system
