I have a new computer and it updated software last

Customer Question

I have a new computer and it updated software last night--now it doesn't do anything after I enter the password. The screen is blank except for a couple of items at the bottom. This is being done from my old laptop that has windows 7 on it. What can I do to get the windows 10 laptop working?

Start the machine up so that you are at the login page (but don't log in yet)

Once at the login page,

while holding down the Shift key click the Power icon in the far right bottom corner

and select Restart. Release the Shift key when you see "Please Wait"

When the Choose an Option page opens click Troubleshoot.

click Advanced Option

select System Restore.

You'll see a recommended restore date. Click Next and follow the prompts

System Restore will undo the updates and you should be able to log in normally.
