I have an IBM ThinkPad laptop that was originally running

Customer Question

I have an IBM ThinkPad laptop that was originally running Windows XP Professional. I did something to it that caused the PC screen to go black on start up. When I replaced the hard drive with one containing Windows 7. it booted up properly. What do you think caused the black screen and boot failure with the Windows XP? I tried to clone Windows XP from another netbook but the drive was not recognized.

Welcome to, my name is ***** ***** I will do my best to assist you.

Do you still have the original windows xp hard drive?

Also, are you trying to save the files from that hard drive, or are you just trying to get windows xp installed and working again.

Please clarify how you want to proceed, so I can assist you.

Thank you,
