I have eec pc laptop

I have eec pc laptop 3 yrs no problem, which has no disc facility.
I use windows xp got message it couldn't download.
I tried each recommendation none worked - it got to 1 screen full of drivers and froze.
WAITED, SWITCHED ON GOT EEC SCREEN and computer would not turn off.
lots of valuable stuff on favourites and important emails. Help please with prompt advice

quickly closes and

blue screen with Eec pc shows plus arrow

Sorry Freddie my other comp crashed - not my day.

Up again, in meantime opened eec pc and no error message

after10 mins up came frame Ghost 11.0

then Symantec which froze, not responding message ,then disappeared and up came frame Re Boot and save files first.

It disappeared and I'm back to

"we apologise Windows did not start

none of start ups work

now frame frozen and no arrow

It sounds like symantec is causing the problem please turn off the machine by holding the power button.
Then as it is starting up repeatedly press F8, when it comes to a menu use the arrow and enter keys to select safe mode (no networking).
Does it do the same thing in safe mode?
