VerifiedHello my name is***** and I will be the professional helping you today. I have a degree in horticulture from the university of maine and am a golf course superintendent with over twenty four years of experience in the field.The only thing I would suggest is to somehow try and get it out of the pot and planted in the ground. It's most likely reached its maximum stress levels and cant sustain itself. The roots have most likely all tangled each other up so bad that its choking. Its probably a lost cause but trying to get it in there ground where it may be able to spread its roots is about the only thing you can do.If you're able to do this I would suggest watering heavy and applying a high grade organic fertilizer around its base radiating out to 8ft around the tree.
Ficus trees can live well over 100 years. It depends on its environment and the species we are talking about. Within the ficus genus there are hundreds of species. Would you mind sending me a picture?Yes the pot is definitely limiting its lifespan.
