My daughter rents a room from a friend who is her landlord. The gals mom bought this condo for her daughter this past August. The friend is a complete slob and my daughter is very neat and tidy and constantly cleaning up after her friend/landlord. Last Thursday the condo flooded from heavy rains. My daughter called a professional flood team because the gal/landlord would not. I even told the gal it's a must to prevent serious damage. The company came out and began the standard procedures to rectify the water flow through the condo. At some point the mom/landlord fired the company expressing the fees were too high. Nothing has been done to remove the water in the condo. It smells terrible, water everywhere has soaked all the carpet. My daughter left Saturday morning to stay with another friend. Over the weekend the mom/landlord called me to tell me that they are doing “mold control” currently but waiting for the HOA to fix the problem. In the meantime the condo stinks terribly and the air quality is toxic. I helped my daughter remove all of her belongings. The mom/landlord has offered my daughter to stay in a hotel with her daughter. But they only rented a 1 bed hotel and said they will bring in a cot for my daughter. My daughter is completely fed up with the living conditions and how the flood situation has been handled so poorly. Repairs supposedly start today. We want out of the situation.
