Can a tenant refuse to pay rent due to roaches. Alabama. The
The tenant contacted me about renting my 2 bedroom trailer on October 4,2019, he came out to look at the place within a few days. When he came I explained to him that there was a bug problem and that we had already bombed the place twice and sprayed once, he said no problem. He came to signed lease on October 14,2019 and did another walk thru, he said it was ok and was ready to move in and wrote a check for the security deposit. I told him since it was the middle of October that rent will start when he got the power and water turned on which was on October 23,2019 and it will be prorated(rent is $400 a month). I did the math in front of him, it was $13 a day til the end of the month. He has not paid for October. It is now November, I failed to cash his check immediately, I deposited his check for the security deposit on October 30,2919 it bounced … read more
