I complied with the lease even tho i NEVER signed one,I was theretwo years and gave 30 days notice to them before moving out. They told me Iwasn't allowed to move during the x-mas holidays. I left dec. 10th and paid pro-rated amount.

If you weren't under a written lease contract, then you were simply a month to month tenant and can generally terminate the tenancy with a written 30 day notice.

.

Any restriction about not being able to move during the holidays is completely unenforceable since you were not under any type of written lease contract.
