Customer Question

I live in Fort Wayne In. My landlord has threatened to change my locks due to non payment of rent. I told him at the beginning of November that my toilet was running and drains were clogged etc. He told me he would get someone out to fix the repairs, meanwhile i get a 600$ water bill that was threatened to be disconnected due to issue not being fixed. So because i chose to pay some of the water bill now rents short. He finally fixed the problem last week but hes expecting rent too. I told him i cant pay him and the water company he threatened to change my locks and keeps harassing me at work with phone calls and texts. Hes says hes coming tomorrow to pick up rent i told him i dont have it . What do i do? Can he just change the locks?

This is attorney Bill offering assistance today.

This sounds like an illegal eviction by changing the locks.

Has he served an eviction notice on you or have you received a court summons ?

What is your lease term and when does the lease expire ?
