Customer Question

I run a business in richmond virginia, and my landlord has put an unusually large sign in the front of the building I am renting. The sign says for sale. We are afraid that it looks like we are out of business or are shady and could scare away our customers. Our lease is not up until March 10th 2017. I have asked him to remove it and he will not reply. Do we have the right to remove it in which it may be affecting our business.

Good afternoon. I am Loren, a licensed attorney, and I look forward to assisting you.

Are you renting the entire property? Does the lease address the landlord's right to place signs on the property?
