After being on month to month for 5 years my landlord is now

Customer Question

After being on month to month for 5 years my landlord is now requiring I sign a 1 year lease. They have also raised the fee substantially for breaking the lease. No notification was given concerning this change in tenancy. When I went to sign my recertification papers I was informed of the new requirements. Can they do this without notice?
