We live in a one Bedroom Apartment, According to the contract we can live 3 in the apartment. Had a visitor at my apartment for 5 days and one of the neighbors mention it to the landlord that it was for more then 14 days, therefore, the landlord sent me a 30- Day Notice to Change the terms of my rental agreement, for a rental increase of $179.00.

Have you spoken with the landlord regarding this and that it was a guest? Also, what does the lease say about guests and does this address a rental increase? Is your lease for a year term? What State is this in?
