Customer Question

My wife and I are currently living in a rented house (In Indiana) with a tenant (who, as far as I know, does not have a written lease agreement) that is threatening to forcefully evict us from a house that we have lived in before the tenant lived here, and have paid for different amenities, such as bills, groceries, etc. Can I be forcefully evicted from the house, or is that not legal?

I'm Lucy, and I'd be happy to answer your questions today. I'm sorry to hear that this is happening.

Do you and your wife have a lease for a set term? What reason are they giving for wanting to evict you?
