Ask a landlord-tenant lawyer and get answers ASAP
To be completely honest with you, it is not worth the hassle. You will end up spending more than you would recover. Maybe you'll get to stay at the property, but do you really want to stay there with an upset landlord that is going to be gunning for you the entire time?
The best thing would probably be to move to another place where the landlord isn't going to be looking for any reason to kick you out.
