My management company has not cashed my rent checks last two

Customer Question

My management company has not cashed my rent checks for the last two months, the same with several of my neighbors. They have gotten 6 of the 17 rent-stabilized tenants out in the two years they have owned the place. I hear from the super that they are about to sell (or have sold?) the building. I have been emailing and calling about the uncashed checks, and trying to keep a paper trail. Is it time to get a lawyer? Is it better if several of the tenants hire the same lawyer?

Do you have a written lease for a specific term? What is the response when you have asked about the uncashed checks?
