We recently were told to move from out home by Sept 1st

Customer Question

We recently were told to move from out home by Sept 1st without any warning of him not renewing our upcoming lease. Our landlord has not made the repairs on our house when we originally asked him to do so on April 2nd. I sent him photos of the structural damage on that date. He said he would take care of it , but never did. On or around the beginning of August, he taped a note on our door asking us to leave by Sept 1st. He is saying he is not re sewing our lease because we paid late 3 times. He continues to pay him full rent even though doors could not close, the floor was buckling. He said if we vacate by the first he will give us a good reference. We have rights don't we ? I also think he wants us gone because my husband has health issues. He said that if we do not do what he requests he will serve us with a eviction notice and not give us a good reference. August rent has been paid in full so I do not know how he can evict us ?

Thank you for your question. Please permit me to assist you with your concerns.

If I may ask, in what state are you renting in? I am also assuming that this is a residential lease, correct? Also, are you month-to-month or are under contract? Please advise!
