Is income from a work training program disallowed when calc

Customer Question

Is income from a work training program disallowed when calculating income for HUD Section 8? Does a work training program with the Bureau of Rehabilitation disqualify income calculation for HUD Section 8? My son has been working with BRS. The state of Connecticut pays for him to be employed through an agency dedicated to helping those with disabilities find an keep work. Then, if the employer wants to keep him he can shed BRS and the work program. This hasn't happened yet. We lost our subsidy for Section 8 because we were over income when you include my sons income. Doesn't HUD make allowances for this?
