At the end of this month, it will be one year since we moved
at the end of this month, it will be one year since we moved into our apartment, which is a private home but the landlord and his spouse live on the 1st floor. We thought everything was alright. During the summer it gets extremely hot in the apartment and we are charge $50 per ac per room. At first the landlord was planning on selling us his AC , which cools down the entire house for $900; but we should a cheaper one online. Then the landlord told us we would have to pay $100/month for the AC, but I went back to the lease and showed him that the price agreed to was $50. No where on the lease it say that they will increase the rent due to utilities usage. In addition before signing the lease, we had a verbal agreement that if they notice that we were using to much utilities, they would give us a warning, to try to cut back and if that didn't work, they would increase the rent for the next month. … read more
