I rented my son an apartment, never saw the inside just the show apartment. Was guaranteed the apartment would be just as great. The day before we were due to move in the lady got to the door and said it was (by rules) that she inspected the apartment first. She then closed the door and came back out exclaiming there were still some things that needed to be cleaned and gave me her WORD that it would be perfect! My son was due to start school 8 days later and she new it was time sensitive I then took her word , only have done this once and moved him in the next day. The apartment smelt great and was nice. Within the first week mold started growing along the bedroom wall. Management had been contacted and it took more than a month, two months before the office would come down. I have pictures and the mold had consumed the entire apartment within 3 weeks. The guy in the office came down within the 2 month period and said it was horrible and he would help. One month later they keep telling him and me that they had no apartments available. Then finally, after another month ,came up with an apartment half the size of the one we originally rented. They told us that it was temporary until one came available the size he had. The new apartment had no working toilet and the shower was was flooding from upstairs. Some time later they ripped out my sons shower and fixed the leak. The toilet still till this day needs water from the sink to flush!!!!There are so many more details, like the management said not to move anything or change billing. They payed the bills for at least 2 months in the old apartment while I payed the new apartment.They said we did not have to move anything , yet the mold ate threw everything. We had to throw away book shelves, beds clothes, towels, rugs, pictures were even covered with mold. Still no help no reply from management! The apartment they moved him in was temporary,Smaller apartment , more rent! to get him out of the mold and they tried to raise the rent due to the prices were not the same as when I rented. Smaller apartment more rent. This apartment was in my name and my son was listed as living there... So without contact with me and pressure on him, they produced a new lease and forced him to sign. the new lease is my son alone, I am not included. What should I do and how?
