- This may happen if the switch has failed or if there is an issue with the control module. If the lights won't turn off with the switch we may need to have it checked with a scan tool to see if the input from the switch is missing. Try resetting the computers by disconnecting both of the battery cables, then touch the cable ends together for 2 minutes. If the concern is still present at that time continue with scan tool testing to see if the switch or computer will need to be replaced.
