My door wil not lock or open with the remote. I thought it needed a battery, but that didn't work

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you tested the battery with a voltmeter? And can you see if it's leaking or not?

No but the battery is dry

2016 Optima

It just started yesterday. I replaced the battery today in the fob but it still doesn't work

so if it will not work with both remotes, you can go up to the local auto parts store and they should have a remote signal checker to see if your remote is working, if that all checks out , you can try a full system battery reset in the vehicle and if that dosent work, the vehicle will need to be put on a scanner to diagnose the signal issue within the vehicle
