Customer Question

Rear rotor will not come off
JA: What is the model/year of your Kia?
Customer: 2012 forte ex
JA: Are you fixing your Forte yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: My brother is. He has used wd 40 to try to loosen and hammer Seems every time it like it loosens up seems like a spring pulling it back
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Not that I am aware of

Wasn't sure how long this would take

Hello I will help you with your question,

If it is springing back it is hung up on the park brake shoes. There is a rubber plug in the rotor between the lug studs, remove the plug and rotate the rotor so you can see the notched adjuster for the shoes through the hole. Turn the adjuster all the way so the shoes are loose and it should slide off.

Let me know if that is clear

Sorry took so long my brother got one off and is now doing the other. Use a screw driver to loosen
