Customer: replied 1 year ago.

HI,

Ok, does yours have manual or automatic climate controls?

And does it have separate temperature control for the driver and passenger side?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
manual and just the driver but it does have controls for the back seats and seating area up front
Expert:  Eric replied 1 year ago.

HI,

With the ac running, are the metal lines going to the firewall in the engine compartment cold?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
i have a cold line and the compressor just kiced on and it is getting cold
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
with the motor running we switch on the a?c on the dash and it takes a second for the compressor to kick on !!!!!!!!
Expert:  Eric replied 1 year ago.

HI,

Ok, so it is blowing cold out the vents right now, correct?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
but it now starts getting cold air through the vents !!!!!!!!!!!
Expert:  Eric replied 1 year ago.

HI,

Ok, the AC switch contacts may be worn and didnt make good contact to kick on the ac, or the control unit is not sending consistent signal to the temperature blend doors.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
eric what can i do to fix this it might even need a recharge?????
Expert:  Eric replied 1 year ago.

HI,

It shouldnt need a recharge as it is blowing cold when it works, which seems to have been consistent until today.

This is going to be an electrical issue, either in the control panel or possibly at the ecm, or in the wiring.

With it working right now, we really cant do any testing as it will show as being good for any tests.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it blows cold but it takes awhile and also it takes a little time for the a/c compressor to kick on
Expert:  Eric replied 1 year ago.

HI,

That points to the compressor not getting the signal immediately when ac is selected at the control panel. The signal goes from the control panel to the ecm, and then to the compressor clutch relay and then to the compressor

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
bad contacts on the swich- ecm - compressor- recharge what do you think
Expert:  david craig replied 1 year ago.

Hi Im David, You said you are hearing a ticking noise behind the dash? being that your ac is intermittently blowing cold air and there seems to be a good charge, I believe you are having an issue with the blend door actuator. that ticking means that the arm that controls the blend door is eithe popped off or about to.

Expert:  david craig replied 1 year ago.

do you still need assistance?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
