I have a 2008 kia optima and having heater problems. The AC

Customer Question

I have a 2008 kia optima and having heater problems. The AC woks great but when I turn on the heater no heat but the blower works great. I changed the air flow door actuator and it works great. I change all the control knobs on the dash and they seem to work great except the temp control knob seem to not work. I check the radiator fluided and it is good. I then checked the heater hose after the car warmed up and it seems hot. The temp gage in the car seems to be running normal. so what could be my problems . Harold

Are both heater hoses hot or just one?

When you replaced the temperature blend door actuator, did you try to turn the door manually with the actuator off to ensure that the door itself is working?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If you have a lack of heat the problem could be a heater core restriction, lack of coolant flow to the heater core, low engine temperature, or the blend door not working. It sounds as if you at least have coolant flow to the core and the engine is reaching operating temperature.

With the engine at operating temperature and running did it blow hot when you moved the door by hand?
