Customer Question

2006 kia sedona, 173000 miles. Turned off my car after a short*****and suddenly all sorts of steam blew out of the engine compartment. Seemed to be coming from the rear of the engine, not radiator or front hoses. Lots of water / antifreeze on the ground. Any idea what broke? Ready for a new car; should I fix or trade in broken?

to get a coolant leak from the rear of the engine then its likely to be one of the small link hoses that runs through into the passenger compartment and into the heater mattrix

I'd say it should be a reasonable thing to fix, parts cost for hoses is pretty low usually less than $100 , depending on whats broken often less than this and then 1 -2 hours labour to replace the parts
