Hello, normally NO, you do not change fluid like we did in the past, Todays fluids are different and transmissions are different by design and fluid is designed to last life of the vehicle, Its a sealed unit, no dipstick etc to even check fluid levels. so.. do you change at 88K? no, I do not recommend, Not required as well., now if shifting issues, leaks etc? this is different but if all is ok? let it be, BUT,Kia does list "severe" use, 60K, if you feel you fall into this? then change if you would like but even then? I still say no unless really under severe. Here is direct from Kia

ATF of 6 speed automatic transaxle doesn't need to be replaced. If the vehicle is used severely in business or personal use, replace ATF every 60,000 miles.

Severe usage is defined as

  • Driving in rough road (Bumpy, Gravel, Snowy, Unpaved road, etc)
  • Driving in mountain road, ascent/descent
  • Repetition of short distance driving
  • More than 50% operation in heavy city traffic during hot weather above 32°C(89.6°F).
  • Police, Taxi, Commercial type operation or trailer towing, etc
