The power steering pump on my 2006 Sedona started making

Customer Question

The power steering pump on my 2006 Sedona started making noise and leaking. It was replaced with a new one and a new accessory belt by a reputable shop I have used for over 20 years. They were careful to bleed the air out and clean the filter screen. The steering works fine except when coming off idle at a stop there is no power assist until the revs build up a little. This never happened in 142000 miles on the original pump. I took it back and they re-bled the system and inspected the screen again. It still does it. Since the new pump is fully warranted we can replace it with another one at no cost to me or them. But I'm afraid the same thing will happen again----Any ideas ??

Hello, I'm Brandon - Kia tech.

It looks to me the power steering pump is defected from the box.

Can you replaced it with a new factory power steering pump instead an aftermarket unit.

They did everything right by cleaning the power steering reserve screen and bled the system.

I'm assuming they are using PSF-4 or Hyundai power steering fluid.
