I have a 2013 Kia Sorento. Can't start vehicle. Battery seems ok. lights come on. Can't really push the brake when trying to start. Any suggestions?

Tried to bypass break sensor by pressing start button and then again holding it. All dash lights come on but engine does not.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If the brake pedal was pressed more than a couple times without the engine running it would have depleted the vacuum in the brake booster making the pedal much harder to press. If you don't press hard enough then the brake switch won't close and that will prevent the starter from engaging.

Do the brake lights come on when pressing the pedal?
