Customer Question

I am a used car dealer. I have a 2007 Kia Sorento 4x4 with 59000 miles. Bought at wholesale auction. Engine runs fine, then on start up every 4 or 5th time, it smokes like a bellows. Clears out over 3-4 mins. The CEL indicates 0016/0018 cam shaft sensor. Once light comes on, vehicle dogs and acceleration decreases, during continued driving, CEL turns off. After CEL turns off, vehicle runs fine. Then it will start smoking again on start up and the conditions repeat. Smoking is usually vapor light, similar to head gasket emission, color is gray/blue. Recently it is starting to make timing noise intermittently, usually on acceleration. Today on start up, smoked as it does normally but the timing noise was excessive, it did go away after a 30-40 seconds, but once RPM was increased, valve train noise returned. Haven't driven it since. Temperature is normal on gauge.

I was explicit in my description. Knowing Kia 3.8l history, you should have been able to shed light on my issue, not ask me mundane questions that you would ask when you don't have history. My problem dealt directly with OCV and Camshaft sensors. I don't have time for this process.
