Before i realized the fan wasnt working i was trying to fix the turn signals. i replaced the flasher relay. yes im doing the work mself

Hi, my name is***** the wiring and the connector to the neutral safety switch on the transmission. It's not unusual for the wiring to chafe against the shift cable and bracket and short out. A bad neutral safety switch can also cause the problem.

Let me know what you find.

Actually they do show the harness in the diagram as well.

are you referring to whats labeled in the picture as the park/neutral switch? all the wires in that diagram seem to be connected at some point. will i have to inspect all of them? Or does this problem normally appear right at the switch?

It affects the wires to the switch. Inspect the areas where the harness rubs.
