This answer was rated:

Tries to start but doesn't-- Cranks over fine and does not run.. It fires but won't start.. 2005 Grand Cherokee-- 3.7..
JA: Have you checked the engine's fuel supply? And the spark plugs -- are they all working?
Customer: I just bought it and took it for a short test ride-- Ran well..Had it Flatbeded home to change the Blown Head Gasket-- Started it up and drove it around the block and pulled it in my Garage.. Went to start it one more time before I pull it all apart and it would not run-- It does Kick a bit..
JA: Are you fixing your Grand Cherokee yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes-- Fix it myself.. I have been working on Engines my whole if-- Just not a 3.7.. It almost sounds like the Security System is armed.. I really have not ried much yet..
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Nope--

Hello and welcome!

My name is ***** ***** I can assist you with your question.

Have you checked for spark and fuel while cranking?

Are there any codes in the computer?

Are you looking for some possible causes?

Would you be willing to speak on the phone?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
It must be getting Spark-- It does fire.. Just won't start..

Got it. Thank you for that information.

You might just have a faulty fuel pump.

See if the engine will run on starting fluid.

If so, you know the engine is starving for fuel.

I even poured gas down the throttle body-- Same result.. Fires but won't start-- Even holding the key in the start possituion.. Just "Kicks" a bit..

Ok, would you be willing to speak on the phone?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I'll buy a Service manual before I spend money on a Call..

A service manual will not diagnose the problem for you.

I can lower the cost of the phone call down to $5 bucks if you would like.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I should have one anyways.. I have had Jeeps all my life-- Just never one with a 3.7 in her..
I'll pay the 5 Bucks..

Ok, just so your aware, this is $5 bucks plus the original amount. Is that Ok with you?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
10 Bucks total..
