Other than the shuddering between 55-65 mph, did you notice any other engine performance issues?

Ask Your Own Jeep Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
no that the only thing it was doing. I just had it repaired in OCtober cylinder 6 misfire had that replaced and now it started this.

Does the shuttering at 55-65 occur when engine is cold, after driving it for a while or temperature does not matter?

Ask Your Own Jeep Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
temperture does not matter only happens uphill going 55 to 65 does not do it on flat or downhill'
Jeep Mechanic: Gunvir Singh,

Reading the check engine light code will give an idea what system the issue is regarding but symptom you are experiencing can be caused by clogged catalytic converter, low fuel pressure or low engine compression. Since the cylinder head was replaced about a month ago, i will recommend by checking the compression first to make sure the repair was performed correctly.

Hi, this is Ron, another expert.

If this were a misfire, it would always be there, not just at certain speeds. I would monitor the transmission.

Here’s the sequence of events I follow:
Check fluid level and color. Make appropriate repairs.
Check shift solenoids with a scan tool in bidirectional mode if
applicable. Shift solenoids are inside the transmission and
this is the easiest way to check them.
Drop pan and inspect for excessive metal shavings inside
pan. Check valve body and clutches visually.
Hopefully you may not have to go this far, maybe you just
were a bit low on fluid.

If all looks good with the trans, then check the drive line.

Please understand that I don't know your skill level or tools
you have to assist us. Also understand that I can't see, smell,
hear, or touch the vehicle either, so your patience is
appreciated. JA is a great Q/A site, but it does not replace a
repair shop. So please don’t shoot the messenger if I have to
deliver bad news:)
If you are satisfied with my answer, I would greatly
appreciate a 5 star rating now before you leave the site and I
will still assist you after you have rated me too if another
question pops up. I don’t get credit for helping you until
you rate me

Thanks, Ron
