Please help! I have a 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee he Laredo 4.0 L, and it will not start. When I turn the ignition on the ASD relay clicks on then the TCM relay clicks on and fuel pump relay clicks on and off, I hear the fuel rail click, but then the ASD relays shuts off and about 1 second later kicks back on and the process starts over. It's like a series of 4 clicks- then a pause- 4 clicks- then a pause- 4 clicks- pause, and it just repeats till you turn the ignition off. It will crank if you turn the key, but it won't start of course, and there are no codes being thrown.
I've checked all relays & fuses; replaced body, engine, PCM and BCM grounds; replaced the PCM; and installed a new battery- NOT SURE WHAT TO DO NEXT?!?!?

Hello. Have you checked spark? Also fuel pressure. I have seen in this platform were a sensor fails and takes out the 5 volt reference. Check with a digital meter .. Find the crankshaft position sensor connector.. Its on the passenger side by the transmission bell housing. Disconnect it and turn the key on. Measure voltage at all 3 pins on the harness side.. One should read at least 5v. If not then unplug sensors until you have 5v and replace faulty sensor.. Let me know your findings.

I checked the crankshaft & camshaft sensor wiring and the 5v reference is good and the other wires seem to have good continuity between the sensor connectors and the PCM connectors
Jeep Mechanic: Jack, ASE Certified Technician replied 10 months ago
Did you verify spark.
