If you take a shop rag and place it over the throttle body dose the engine stall or stay running?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Will check and get back to in 5 min
Expert:  Ron replied 1 month ago.

Please do, you want to try and choke it off when you do this.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
No choke electriconic ingnition idle goes down but runs
Expert:  Ron replied 1 month ago.

If you choke all the incoming air off with the shop rag the engine should die completely and if it dose not then it sucking air from someplace else.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Where is the question no leaks in manifold been checked
Expert:  Ron replied 1 month ago.

Well with the engine running the only place air can enter the engine is through the throttle body and when you choke that air off the engine should die with not air flow. If its staying running then its sucking air and that is usually Heather a leaking intake or the throttle body base jacket or a leaking vacuum supply line.

Ok will check them again and see what happens
Expert:  Ron replied 1 month ago.

Please do because the engine is getting air from someplace beside the throttle body if it will run with the throttle choked off.
