Hi it overheats at idle but not all the time
JA: Have you checked the coolant? Have you checked for a leak in the cooling system?
Customer: yes in fact its my daughters truck and she just had the water pump and thermostat replaced
JA: What is the model/year of your Jeep?
Customer: 04 gran Cherokee in line 6
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes I had an 01 that overheated and replaced the fan control mod but it wasn't intermittent. on the 04 the fan isn't seised and does come no but slow speed
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Okay, so if all those parts are new and in working order, then you probably have a flow issue with the radiator being partially plugged. This mean that the engine block is also partially plugged, so i recommend a power flush of the cooling system with a powr flush machine. Most shops have this tool.
