jeep sat for a few years, i hear fuel pump run for a second but no fuel at fuel rail
JA: Have you ever replaced the fuel pump, or is this the original?
Customer: i just inherited this 97 grand cherokee
JA: Are you fixing your Grand Cherokee yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes, i am doing repairs myself. i pulled fuel filter, no blockage. the fuel lines are empty, and the vacuum lines are clear. all i hear is fuel pump doing its two second prime
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: does this model have an obd computer hookup?

Fuel goes bad in about six months and causes the fuel sysytem to become contaminated.

The tank needs to be dropped and flushed out and fuel pump needs to be replaced.

The fuel lines need to be flushed and the injectors need to be cleaned. Varnish buildup is evident.
