My alarm system is draining my battery and wont let it run,

my alarm system is draining my battery and wont let it run
JA: Have you tested the battery with a voltmeter? And can you see if it's leaking or not?
Customer: I changed the battery
JA: What is the model/year of your Jeep?
Customer: 96 jeep grand cherokee laredo
JA: Are you fixing your Grand Cherokee yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I changed the starter and fuses and i tried the door and key thing a few times but nothing and when the alarm isnt going off my jeep wont start up
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: It sounds like its not getting enough fuel and ive been told i might need a new fuel pump and i just wanna knlw if there is anything else i ahould fix before i can start this thing

have the vehicle jump started let it run a minute then take the jumpers off and read the voltage at the battery with a meter

The jeep doesnt run it starts to turn over but doesnt ive put a new battery starter ans fuses ans fuel filter plus braking things like rotors calipers and pads but thats for when i finally get my baby running, i need help getting this damn thing running amd idk what to do or fix if u can point me in the right direction please

The light for security doeant come on but the headlights flicker and there a ticking coming from inside

When i attempt to turn on my jeep it starts to turn on but it didn't turn fully over, usually in this situation u think maybe press the gas cause it sounds like It need a lil to turn on but when i do it has a major blowback nd it doesnt turn on its sounds like it wants to turn on but never gets there

ok. sitting in the jeep. turn the key to the on position(not start), listen very closely for a low humming noise coming form back where the fuel tank is. it should only last 2-3 seconds

Currently not able to remove tank cause the bolts r rusted nd i broke my socket so now i have to wait...how do i disconnect the alarm system cause thats still a problem

pull the relay out. take the meter and find 12vdc in one of the holes. let me know when you get to that point

It sounds like you may have a couple different issues going on. Factory security will allow the engine to start, run for about one second and then shuts the injectors off. It sounds like security may need to be disarmed but there may also be a deeper issue.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'major blowback'?
