Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Something I will have to check, it still did the same thing when I replaced the stater just clicks in fuse box like it loosing power, before could pull fuse and put back in and get lucky it would start. Tried doing that again nothing so replaced stater I don't get no start just clicking with the new starter

Expert:  david craig replied 9 months ago.

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
It starts but will only run for ten seconds then dies code 1685 and 1686 come up how do I rest it or can I do it
Expert:  david craig replied 9 months ago.

standby,, let me find out

Expert:  david craig replied 9 months ago.

so you replaced the ignition switch?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Keyless enter switch was unhooked and I plug it in thinking it was the problem, because it was not hooked think somebody put in different steering column , unhooked it and it won't stay running. And get key light on dash board
Expert:  david craig replied 9 months ago.

ok. i dont think we can reset this, but let me make sure. its probably going to come down to getting new key cut and coded since the SKIM is activated.

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
What if I get a key and switch from junk yard will that work
Expert:  david craig replied 9 months ago.

no, that will not work. your keys need to get programmed to the module in the vehicle. there is no bypass for this. , . depending on where you live most of the time to get the module reprogrammed and keys reprogrammed it about 50-100 depending on the dealer

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Just take the key and module to dealer or do they need the car
Expert:  david craig replied 9 months ago.

they need the car unfortunately my friend

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
What if you had the brain and switch and key/ignition from different car
Expert:  david craig replied 9 months ago.

not sure if that would work. never went to those lengths.

Expert:  david craig replied 9 months ago.

i will opt out and let another tech chime in with their thoughts. good luck.
