I have a 2008 liberty and the poor fuel/gascap warning light

Customer Question

hello - i have a 2008 liberty and the poor fuel/gascap warning light keeps coming on and after that it feels like it is running on 5 cylinders - very rough and slow to accelerate. I have brought it to a mechanic and so fare have - checked the gascap, put in a fuel additive and filled the tank up (it uses premium) changed the plugs.
JA: Have you checked the gas cap for cracks? Have you checked the fuse?
Customer: what are the symptoms for a fuse?
JA: Are you fixing your Liberty yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: no, it is being dome by firestone
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: only that it was running fine after the last fix and then the next day it was back again

The first thing you will need to do is see what codes is has with a scantool.. Can you run by any parts store and have them read the codes free of charge and post the codes here so I can see what's going on?
