Customer Question

several things. Trying to locate power window relay. and does the crankshaft positioning sensor have anything to do with shifting and dash functioning?
JA: Does the vehicle stall at low speeds? Does it sputter?
Customer: no it dosen't
JA: What is the model/year of your Jeep?
Customer: 2001 Cherokee 4.0 2wd
JA: Are you fixing your Cherokee yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes I am and this is what am going from the guy I bought it from. from a start to get any power I have to manually shift. no guages on the dash work either.

Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be helping you today.

So the guy told you all these issues were caused by the crankshaft position sensor?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the shifting and dash problems. i figure the window probs come from the window relay.
Expert:  Kavey replied 1 year ago.

He lied to you.

Have you checked it for codes or had it checked by anywhere?>

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No I haven't I just got it.
Expert:  Kavey replied 1 year ago.

Thats where you need to start. Places like autozone will check codes for free. Let me know what they find and I can tell you what further testing needs done. Dont buy parts based on the code unless you just want to donate money to autozone. If so have at it but let me know what codes came up and I can tell you what needs tested to determine the actual cause of the issue.

will that also tell me the issue about the dash?
Expert:  Kavey replied 1 year ago.

With any luck. I would expect to see codes in there related to the serial bus or something that will give us an idea on the dash.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok, I'll do that shortly
Expert:  Kavey replied 1 year ago.

OK. I should be standing by unless my power goes out. We got a lightning storm going on so its a possibility.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
where is the power window relay located on that model?
Expert:  Kavey replied 1 year ago.

There isnt one.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Why does NAPA have a listing, part # and part for it?
Expert:  Kavey replied 1 year ago.

Because NAPA is better than autozone but not as good as a dealer?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
That's kind of weird huh>
Expert:  Kavey replied 1 year ago.

Nope. Happens all the time. They just assume all chryslers of certain years have one and its going to be the same type which it would if it had one that wasnt integrated in the TIPM.
