It's my jeep, 2008 wrangler, my stereo went out and I bought

it's my jeep, 2008 wrangler, my stereo went out and I bought another one from a guy and after i installed it today it asked for a antitheft code, the person I bought it from doesn't have the jeep anymore which I understand is necessary to get a code
JA: Have you checked the fuse?
Customer: the radio works, the problem is it asks for a anritheft code which I do not have
JA: Are you fixing your Wrangler yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: contacting a dealer and the dealer said they need the vin from the jeep it came out of which I don't have and the serial number from my radio which I do have that
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
