I have a broken black wire on driver side door is this

i have a broken black wire on driver side door is this ground wire for control for door, the other end is to short to do anything with. it goes into body of 2004 jeep grand cherokee
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes just taken door panel off & boot for wires , found broken wire
JA: Have you checked all the fuses? Do you have a wiring diagram?
Customer: yes
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?

Can you see where the wire goes? Either end? Is there enough to splice back together even if you extend it a little?

the wire that goes into the door can be spliced but the one that goes into body can't, i can see other end in boot & get a pair
of pliers on it but can not splice it

There are two black wires, one goes to the door ajar switch and is ground for the switch and the other is the ground for the driver's door module (computer) You can run a wire for either of those and connect it to a solid clean metal part of the body inside.
